Prof. Hannah Cock,  St George’s University Hospitals NHS Trust (United Kindom)

Prof. Cock qualified from the University of London in 1989, and also completed her post-graduate and research training in and around London. Having started her consultant career at the National Hospital for Neurology, she moved to St George’s in 2003 where she is Consultant Neurologist at Atkinson Morley Regional Neuroscience Centre, and Professor of Epilepsy and Medical Education in the Institute of Medical & Biomedical Education at St George’s, University of London.


The Epilepsy group provide a full range of diagnostic and management services, including: an epilepsy surgery program; joint transition clinics with paediatric neurology & intellectual disability services; joint clinics with maternal medicine for pregnant women with epilepsy, and adult epilepsy support for the supraregional tuberous sclerosis service.


She leads an active clinical trials portfolio, was chair of the UK epilepsy research network Interventions & treatment clinical study group 2010-2014, and is currently the epilepsy Lead for the London South NIHR Region. Specific interests include functional non-epileptic attacks, status epilepticus, epilepsy and the law.  Prof Cock is also the education lead for the European Academy of Neurology, a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and EAN, and member of the International League Against Epilepsy Epilepsy Certification task force, and has been involved in all aspects of undergraduate medical and post-graduate neurological education throughout her career.

Prof. Emilio Perucca,  University of Pavia, C. Mondino National Neurological Institute in Pavia (Italy)

Emilio Perucca is Professor at the University of Pavia and Director of the Clinical Trial Center of the C. Mondino National Neurological Institute in Pavia. He obtained a M.D. degree and a Specialization in Neurology at the University of Pavia and a Ph.D. Diploma at the University of London.


He trained as a neurologist and clinical pharmacologist at the National Hospital  for Nervous Diseases, London. He is currently  Past-President and member of the Executive and Management Committees of the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE. He is a member of  the Editorial/Advisory Board of several journals, including Epilepsia, Epilepsy Research, Seizure, Lancet Neurology and CNS Drugs.


Dr. Perucca’s research activities have focused on the clinical pharmacology of antiepileptic drugs, the drug treatment of seizure disorders, clinical trial methodology and assessment of outcome in people with epilepsy.  He  co-edited  several international textbooks and authored over 450 Pubmed-listed publications in the field of  clinical pharmacology and epilepsy therapy, with an H-index of 75 and a citation index of 20,665.

Prof. Vijay Thadani,  Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Medical School (U.S.A.)

Prof. Vijay Thadani is a practicing neurologist and lecturer at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Medical School. He graduated in Biology in Princenton University and obtained a PhD at Yale University. Trained as neurology at Yale-New Haven Hospital and obtained a fellowship in neurology in 1990 at Yale Medical School.


Prof. Thadani has work as staff member at Yale New-Haven Hospital, VA Medical Center and since 1991 he works as staff neurologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. He is a member of American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Medical Association, American Academy of Neurology. He has participated in numerous research projects and publications.


His main clinical and research interest are the disorders of consciousness, epilepsy, neuroimaging technologies, pre-surgical long-term scalp and intracranial EEG monitoring of patients with refractory epilepsy, EEG monitoring in the intensive care unit, multiple sclerosis.
